That day hasn't come, but I'm not giving up.As long as I'm consistently faster with auto-clutch than without it I'll keep using it and realism be damned :)There's an excellent post for new drivers on all the different forms of shifting and braking on the skippy. Only use the clutch for starts. It's bringing many of the world's best drivers online and keeping the racing action moving even though the cars themselves are sitting idle.
I have tried going without clutch aids a number of times and I find that for me, it's slower and less consistent than using auto-clutch.I believe that iRacing has confirmed that there is a small penalty for using the clutch aids. Enable them in your iRacing graphics options by checking the “Hide car numbers” box and restarting the iRacing sim.
