Didn’t buy any vinyl until now, but I’m starting considering to get the 180g LPs for all studio albums from ‘Space Oddity’ to ‘Scary Monsters’, except for ‘Pin Ups’ maybe.I understand completists and collectors find appealing to have two versions of the live albums, or alternative mixes for ‘Ziggy Stardust’, ‘Young Americans’, ‘Station to Station’ and ‘Lodger’, or all the single edits and rarities, but for a normal person all these things filling those box sets are superfluous at best.I only hope that once this series will be over there won’t be 50th anniversary editions of each album, it’d be quite boring. And it is going to be released on my birthday !I ordered the 4 tracks from the just a gigolo soundtrack, from 7digital, free from any restrictive drm.“Revolutionary Song” is missing from this box-set, and it WAS initially released during this period, on the Just A Gigolo soundtrack.The song may have been credited to “The Rebels” upon its release in 1979, but that was just a thinly-veiled alias (presumably due to his RCA contract at that time). I may have to start buying these. I presume they’ve broken chronological order because they wanted the drama of opening with “Heroes”.Being human, and British, I’ll start with a couple grumbles.The cover is dull, and uninteresting. There’s little or nothing new in all this, remastered albums do not a great SDE make.If there was one box I didn’t want them to fudge, it was this one.Seems like a lot of this conversation has been had twice already.
