Was gifted to try a Tomato Pie, bout a week ago. 1 9-inch pie crust, unbaked; 4-5 Roma or beefsteak tomatoes, sliced; 1/2 teaspoon salt; 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped; 2 cloves garlic, minced; 1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated; 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated; 3/4 cup mayonnaise; 1 teaspoon black pepper New right when an there I had to learn to make one. Very, very good. These extra steps really do help.This was absolutely delicious. It did very well!You can slice the tomatoes and sprinkle with salt and lay out on paper towels after about 25 minutes blot with more paper towels to get out remaining moistureIs is so much like a recipe I make, but it does call for a dusting of flour on each layer.
